DJ Edgar grew up in Tijuca (north zone of Rio de Janeiro). Edgar started his DJ career in 1990, being employed as a DJ for one of Rio's biggest and most known Baile Funk sound systems and became touring DJ for baile funk superstar Mr. Catra. Edgar is responsible for many artistic changes in baile funk both in Brazil as well as Europe. Edgar passed away in 2018.
